Lloret de Mar carries a reputation that arrives before you do. Mention it to anyone who visited in their early twenties and you will hear about the nightlife, the beach bars, and very little else. That version of Lloret is real enough, concentrated along a few streets near the seafront, but it is also only a slice of the town.
