Permalink is a part of the URL of your page or a post.
Normally in wordpress, the Permalink is by default taken from the title name of that content.
But it is important to optimize the Permalink in accordance to the SEO factors.
Example: like include keyword in permalink, make simple and short length Permalinks that's easy for the Search engine bots to find, etc.

As you know that when we do a search on the Internet about any topic, the result or the page of the article related to it remains connected to a path ie url or link of a website. That link or URL is called permalink. To rank any post in the search engine, the importance of the title and meta tag description of the content is as much as that of the permalink.

A permalink, short for "permanent link," is the permanent URL of a post, page, or other content on a website. In WordPress, a permalink is the unique URL assigned to each post or page on your website.

By default, WordPress creates permalinks that include the date and the title of the post or page. For example, a post with the title "How to Optimize Your Website for Search Engines" might have a permalink like this: https://www.example.com/2022/01/01/how-to-optimize-your-website-for-search-engines. However, you can customize the permalink structure to make the links more readable and meaningful for your visitors and search engines.

You can change your permalink structure from the WordPress settings. Go to the settings, then Permalinks, then you can choose from the predefined options such as Post name, Day and name, Month and name, Numeric, Custom Structure.

It's important to note that when you change the permalink structure of your website, you may break existing links, and it can cause issues with your website's SEO. Therefore, it's recommended to keep the permalink structure consistent and stable, and if you decide to change it, make sure to redirect the old links to the new ones using 301 redirects to avoid the broken links.
