My first trek in 300 foot Deep Valley – Sandhan Valley
First Day:-
It was Friday night, time was around 11 pm, we started our journey from Andheri station. First, the instructor made us introduce with each and everyone present there. After the introduction round, we started playing some games in the bus. Some of the group members were feeling sleepy, so they slept. After 5 hrs of a journey, we reached Sandhan valley. Then all of us had breakfast there and then we started the trek.
There are small and big rocks, so you have to somehow cross them while trekking and have to reach down at the end. So, slowly and steadily, all of us started trekking downwards through those rocks. The difficulty level is medium as there are some big rocks which are difficult to trek. At some places, water was flowing and its level was around 4-5 feet so because of that we all were wet in that water. After completing 1 and a half part of our trek, we reached a point from where we had to do rappelling for moving further. Then, we summed up our event here only and started descending trek to the base village. After reaching the base village, we all had our lunch and started our journey towards Randha waterfall, which is also a very beautiful waterfall near Sandhan valley.
How to reach:-
For Mumbai and nearby Mumbai travelers, the pocket-friendly way is to take a Central Railway train for Kasara, and then hire a private vehicle or opt the shared taxi to Samrad. The train journey takes around 2-3 hrs from Mumbai to Kasara takes around 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Best time to visit:-
November to February are the best time to visit Sandhan Valley. The trek is too difficult during monsoons and too hot during summers. So, make the most of this season and visit this offbeat place near Mumbai for a memorable experience.
